Beating the Thrill of Deception’s Intent

Sight Beyond Seeing™️

deception has always been around!

Deception is the deliberate attempt, whether successful or not, to conceal, fabricate, control, and/or manipulate. It gets its pleasure or satisfaction from successfully deceiving another.

WE LIVE IN A WORLD FULL OF LIES; and deceit comes from many sources. There are “lying spirits,” who lead astray (1 Timothy 4:1); there are “evildoers and impostors,” looking to deceive and trick (2 Timothy 3:13); and perhaps the most ‘subtle’ way ➖ is that we can deceive ourselves by not taking heed to the word of truth, then turn around and blame others for your own self-victimization!

Self-deception is so very common in our fallen world; and the scriptures warns us about deceiving ourselves. Many do not realize that this is a whole lot easier to do, than you think!

James 1:22 cautious us:
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves, but do what it says.” The self-deception that James mentions, relates to an “inappropriate response to truth;” a reply that is not suitable nor acceptable given the situation, or context in which it is made.

GOD’S WORD IS MEANT TO TRANSFORM US

(Psalm 119:11, John 17:17).

One can sit in church for years, listening to sermon after sermon, hearing inspired truth (Rhema) after inspired truth , but if you never “allow the Word preached to change you, then you are “self-deceived.” You can read the Bible from cover to cover, but unless you “put its commands into practice,” you deceive yourself! So you cannot continue to blame others when you find yourself in a lack-luster, defeated, mediocre life! Then that sour. alienated. disillusioned—embittered. spirit, attempts to spread and pollute others! That dark, embittered spirit…will never, everput out God’s light and truth! Misery, indeed looks for a company of companions!

James cautions those who attest to being a believer, to not be “misled,” and emphasizes that every good and perfect gift, (light and truth) comes from God, who is unchanging, and the ‘source of that gift.’

The church of Laodicea was the victim of self-deception concerning their spiritual condition. The folk in this lukewarm church had convinced itself that everything was all right—they bragged that they didn’t need a thing! Jesus, who always speaks truth, (and you should too—speak only and exactly what it word says, not your opinion); Jesus then, set them straight concerning their arrogance & apathy. He said, “You do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.” (smh)

To avoid self-deception, we must be obedient to “look intently into the perfect law of liberty—the Word of God; which gives freedom—then “continue” in it—not forgetting what we have heard, and simply “do it”—then and only then, will we be blessed in whatever, we do.” (James 1:25).

REMEMBERING the word, (not being a forgetful hearer) DOING the word, (acting upon its truths-not culture), and CONTINUING in the word (not just a few, comfortable times)—This will change your CHARACTER, and will counter the INACCURACIES OF SELF-DECEPTION AND DELUSION

Like a mirror, Word of God (the ‘more sure’ word)—will always show us “the” truth which will cause us to inherit His life, (zoe'), anointing, abundance, hope and peace.
So….Examine your motives ➖ because Jehovah Elohim certainly will; and He will discipline (correct), accordingly!
