Poverty is not a good look! Be bold and determined enough, to put in the work to achieve in this life! Even if you have to walk away from some people! Life is more than constantly feuding with others about the plight and condition of the minority populations. It will take actions of faith to lift your life and community!
Many years ago, I remember taking a drive while ministering to a friend/client in the car. She questioned why I was driving in the “white people” neighborhoods. 😳 I guess she forgot I had lived in that very neighborhood for several years! I knew she needed lifting in her “mentality” as well as her “view.” She needed to know that there exists, for the believer, more than poverty status, and bad run-down neighborhoods, and that she could have something other than where she had been; but it would take commitment, to pursue it—on her end; esp. since she was saying she had been a believer for several years.
I responded, with a question and what I believed God’s perspective was—“why drive around neighborhoods that were run-down—looking at that? Where’s the value in that? It just keeps your focus on your own helpless plight!
My job is to preach the “good news of the Kingdom”—the year of jubilee where all debts are canceled! You can pursue, overtake and recover all; also that people can be “restored to a proper sight” (a new ‘God-vision’), esp. if blinded by deception & lies about themselves—
Keep wealth & riches in your view. Continuing to acquiesce to poverty, certainly doesn’t do anyone any good… Jehovah Elohim can lift your life!
Psalm 112 reads, “Blessed is the one who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in the commandments!
His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation(s) of the upright will be blessed.
