The Assignment

To FIND THE HIDDEN TREASURE (Kingdom of God)—and manifest, it on this Earth!
T h a t ’s it!

“The Kingdom (R-E-I-G-N) of God is like a treasure hidden in the field”

The basic meaning of the word K.i.n.g.d.o.m, in the scriptures, is the R-E-I-G-N of God! His Kingdom, then creates a realm and a people for Himself!

The Lord has established his throne in the heavens, and his Kingdom rules over all.”

This means that God’s reign or rule governs all things. He sits as king on His throne of the Universe, and His kingly rule, His action, His lordship, His sovereign governance —policy, actions, and affairs, presides over everything!

The reign of God is as a pearl, and its available, but it's hidden sometimes. It's been there for a long, long time. Nobody knows it's there. Someone then discovers it, and goes and sells everything in order to buy that field; and when they find it, they begin to discover that the Kingdom (reign) of God is at hand! It is worth changing our lives, dramatically and radically to follow this way!

In a parable, Jesus tells His followers, to sell all that they have, let everything go…in order to get that pearl, one of great price! (Kingdom) of God.

In the midst of a world that is filled with hatred, violence, war, following false gods, there still is this treasure—hidden! Since God’s purpose for the world is to save a people for himself and renew the world for that people; HIS kingly rule suggests a redeeming salvation on our behalf. This is why the coming of the kingdom in the New Testament is called good news!

It is administered in and through Jesus, the King, the Lord, and is coming in a way — a new way, into the world to establish his saving rule. First, in the hearts of his people and in their relationships, by triumphing over sin, Satan, and death. Then by the exercise of his reign, He gathers a people for himself in congregations, that live as citizens of a new allegiance to this Kingdom — not an allegiance to this world. Then He will come a second time and complete the reign by establishing a new heaven and a new earth!

Jesus, at the beginning of His public life and His first sermon at the synagogue in Nazareth, proclaims the words of Isaiah:

"The reign, (the spirit of God), is upon me. Jehovah God has sent me to proclaim good news to the poor, heal the broken-hearted, give the blind, new sight, break the bonds of those who are persecuted and proclaim God's year of favor -- the jubilee year." (the Assignment)!

Jesus is proclaiming a time when all of creation -- all of human life, every human person -- will come under the dynamic power of God's love and reign.

In His created realm, there are two different spheres: the sphere of the flesh and the sphere of the Spirit. A realm is where a person operates, whether it is the area influenced by the flesh or the area influenced by the Spirit. If a person has the Spirit of God within, then he is living in the realm of the Spirit, which is the domain of the Holy Spirit. On the other hand, if a person does not have the Spirit of God, then he remains in the realm of the flesh and does not belong to God. The Christ-follower-(hence Believer), is free from the condemnation of sin because he has been united with Christ through salvation.

Repeatedly, Jesus says, “The Kingdom (reign of God) is at hand; R-E-P-E-N-T, for the Kingdom of God is at hand,” and it will change your lives." His Kingdom reign came into our human history, to transform our world into as close of an image of the Kingdom of God, as possible. It's here; it's ready to break forth!

If you remain in the flesh, in carnality—you will miss God, His Life, His supernatural Healing & Abundance, His Kingdom, His Heaven, and the very essence of Jesus Christ—the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords!! We have a choice!

Walk and live in the spirit.

For the Spirit of Life, in Christ Jesus, makes you free from the law of sin and death; and it connects you to the sovereign, victorious KINGDOM OF ALMIGHTY GOD!

In the scriptures, God asked Solomon to pray for whatever he wanted, and whatever it was, God would grant it. Solomon prayed for an open heart, a loving heart, a heart that would bring him wisdom, and God granted it! That's what we need to ask God for, an open heart so that we can become wise according to the way of Jesus. Remember, as the prophet Isaiah proclaimed about God and about Jesus: "My ways are not your ways, my thoughts are not your thoughts. As high as the heavens are above the earth, my thoughts are above your thoughts, my ways above your ways."

We must change radically; and be conformed to Christ! Be like Jesus; follow His way, and the transforming power of love. We too, live in a world even now, that is filled with violence and hatred and wars, and unless more and more of us begin to have that open heart, to be wise according to the wisdom of God, to be ready to change our lives, so that we follow the pattern of the life of Jesus Christ, and transform our world!

He showed us how, as He was tortured, nailed to the cross and died; but died pouring forth love on all humankind and creation. Pouring forth love; returning good for evil, love for hate, and that's the love that can transform our world into the Kingdom (reign) of God.

Again, we must become one with him, be conformed to him. This is how we join in his work of making the Kingdom/Reign of God happen, so that our world gradually is transformed. When we, as the whole church, begin to live this way of Jesus, we can be confident of fullness of life, and fullness of peace, for every person, because God has promised.

Prayer: “Your kingdom come” (Matthew 6:10). Let your Kingdom come…and reign through me! We should pray this every day. Bring the kingdom, Lord. It’s not here the way we want it to be. Bring your kingdom. Bring your reign fully in people’s lives, in my life, in the world.
