Deception in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

The concept of diversity, equity and inclusion includes acceptance and respect. It means understanding that each individual is unique, and recognizing our individual differences.

We aim at understanding each other and moving beyond simple tolerance to embracing and celebrating the rich dimensions of diversity contained within each individual.

Honoring diversity, equity and inclusion, reflects the multiple conflicts and commitments that emerge, as kingdom people seek to be faithful to the teachings and life of Jesus Christ.

Inclusion is about how well the contributions, presence and perspectives of different groups of people are valued and integrated into an environment.

Diversity is about empowering people by respecting and appreciating what makes them different.

Equity, a biblical word, means being fair and impartial! It comes from a root which means “straight” or “level. Today, we might use equity in the sense of a “level playing field.” In the book of Proverbs, a reason for seeking wisdom is to learn to practice equity, sometimes translated “fairness.”

Malachi (2:7) reminds us that the priests lips should guard and keep pure, the knowledge of God’s law, and should the priest (minister), become profane, and pollute the knowledge of the truth, or show favoritism to persons in their administration of the laws of God—they will cause many to stumble by their instruction! Therefore the lord will send the curse upon them and will curse their blessings! WOW!!

Why? Simply because they do not lay to heart (consider God’s Word seriously), and give glory to His word-His truth; God promises to make them despised and humble them before people! Whew!!

Micah (3:9), also condemns the leaders of Israel for perverting all that is right, and equitable. In both of these prophetic passages, the opposite of equity means “crooked.” (This is for the ones that refer to God’s word as nitpicking!”)

Equity recognizes that each person have different circumstances; and will then allocate the exact resources and opportunities needed to reach an equal outcome.

In our modern culture, the focus on diversity can become its own god. Diversity itself, is revered rather than the One who created that diversity. An undo emphasis on diversity only tends to highlight our differences. God is more concerned with UNITY.

Galatians 3:28 references that,

There is now—no distinctions between the Jews and the Gentiles, no distinction between being a slave or one born free; nor is there anymore spiritual distinctions, between the responsibilities of being a male or a female…for those who have been baptized into Christ, are all one (a single unit), in Christ Jesus.

UNITY!! —Joined as a whole!

God is saying that our differences are not what should define the children of God. Those who belong to the Lord Jesus should first define themselves as God’s children. We must be willing to set diversity aside in favor of unity in spirit.

If you're looking to better understand the topic of diversity, you should know that, according to scripture— it’s deceptive (and ridiculous), to think that human beings working together without regeneration from the spirit of God—will bring some sort of lasting harmony!

As we seek to find examples in the word of God of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI)—look for true harmony and unity—and any other condition, “except where the Spirit of God shows up”…the change will only last for a brief time!

Kingdom DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) experts—you’re to advise according to true knowledge; most of us are constantly, (and still), suffering from mistaken notions—which represents the outcomes of such erroneous counsel. Remember, the results can and will be highly destructive and damaging! God is no respecter of persons in judgement
