This mornings God-Moment…
This morning, I felt like Moses must have felt at the burning bush!!
As I approached my prayer room, (which faces the front), I said “what the what?”…was going on out front, with all this red-orange-color of fire, that was peeking thru the blinds!!
I wondered as Moses probably did, about the sight I was seeing, yet there it was—set and marvelous before my eyes! Then as magnificently, as it came, it slowly faded away within minutes!!
As I proceeded to open the blinds, these photos I took quickly captured that particular God- moment!!
A display of God’s GLORY!!
I immediately turned and ran to the rear of the house thinking, “let me see what this looks like from the back!”-as you can see below, it was a rainbow --the sign of the Blood Covenant, God made to His chosen ones! I hurried back to the front and noticed it had then began to RAIN!
Critical notes:
Provisions of this New Covenant/Contract
The New Covenant is a promise by God to His people… individually, rather than as a nation, of regaining or gaining possession of something lost… not based on our adherence to law, but on the basis of God's grace. Provisions of the New Covenant
Provisions of this New Covenant
Our Part:
Faith in God. Trust in God. Belief that Jesus was God in the flesh. To not be controlled by our sinful nature but by the Spirit of God; if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you." (Romans 8:9-11)
God's part:
Salvation, eternal life, forgiveness of all our sins through the death of his Son, the law of hospitality, the provision of the Holy Spirit to live within us and enable us. This promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off -- for all whom the Lord our God will call." (Acts 2:38-39)
Jesus' words at the table that the Last Supper was a kind of a covenant meal, a meal of close fellowship, where hospitality is a very high responsibility; this is where Jesus introduces the New Covenant in his blood:
“Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, 'Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.” (Matthew 26:27-28)
If you have received someone's hospitality (sign of a close bond with that person), for you to seek to harm that person would be unthinkable. Judas' betrayal was especially heinous because he had received Jesus' hospitality and trust, but turned against him. Each of us are invited -- even commanded -- to drink of the cup, binding us to this covenant. We eat His bread and drink His wine, and so renew our commitment to the New Covenant, that Jesus established so many years ago.
"If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin...and once we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
(1 John 1:7, 9)
Promise of His glory
An abundance or overflow of Himself in your life, He throws His weight around. It was used to express His worth, importance, greatness, honor, splendor, power, and sovereignty!
Then there was rain
Rain drops are fertile life to plants, trees, grasses, animals, birds, and human being. There are probably some things in your life that you have been praying about for years. For whatever reason, they have not been answered yet and you are still waiting on God.
Let us re-visit the story of Elijah on top of Mt. Carmel.
Elijah probably felt this way too! In 1 Kings 18, The Israelites had turned away from God and started worshiping idols. Because of this, there had been no rain for three years. (representing rebirth and emotional cleansing). When the rain stops, the clouds will go away and the sun, will came out!
At the end of that time, Elijah met with King Ahab and invited him and all the people as well as the prophets of Baal and Asherah to the top of Mount Carmel. This was the time to show the nation (…again) who the “true” God is.
God can do His own speaking!
Oh He Speaks for HImself—but Are you Listening??
God, in His sovereignty, doesn’t need any of us to speak for Him; but…He has so honored us to speak His life to the nations, and in return, has released blessings over us for being obedient to His will.
Those that follow Jesus hear his voice over the other competing counterfeit voices. Emotionally, there are many voices that speak to us (stress, anxiety, fear), but those who knows God's voice, will takes every inferior voice and emotion, and bring them down by seeking truth and answers from the word of truth! (scriptures).
As the sheepfold, the shepherd represents a place of security, a protective shelter for those in the family of God. No one can enter the fold except through the Good Shepherd. He alone determines who may come in. He protects His sheep and leads them, and even lays down His life for them. Only true sheep follow His leadership. He leads by example, by walking ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice. His life illustrates how we ought to live. He doesn’t have to push or prod the sheepfold to follow Him, but guides us by walking ahead of us. Those of the sheepfold hear His voice recognize Him as…leader.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me, and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish. (John 10: 27-28)
Did anybody else engage in this magnificent “executive briefing with our God as He came to check on us today???…You have to get this! Then, He left His signature…a Rainbow!!! The reminder—the sign of our covenant/contract with Him…Yassszz!
